Nova Scotia is proposing updates to the regulations under the Energy-efficient Appliances Act.

March 20th 2008

The province of Nova Scotia is proposing updates to the regulations under the Energy-efficient Appliances Act. The proposed updates include a standard requiring that solid fuel burning appliances (excluding cookstoves, central heating systems, masonry heater, and site-built fireplaces) will have to meet CAN/CSA-B415 or US EPA Standards. The province of Nova Scotia is proposing that this new standard become effective on October 1, 2008. Wood-burning appliances certified under the US EPA or CSA B415 Standards represent a clean, renewable, and affordable source of heat.
